Yellow Fields?

When I was in Normandy in the fall we kept passing giant fields of yellow flowers. I was wondering what that is?

Canola Oil is produced from the plants.

Oilseed rape... quite prolific.....

I have seen it in South Australia in broad bands, golden canola, purple Pattersons Curse (or Salvation Jane, a weed) and green wheat against a blue sky. I never got the photo as I kept waiting for the %26quot;perfect%26quot; shot.
