Acessing the louvre from the underground mall in rue rivoli

Hi,

I read in TA some older posts that say you can enter the Louvre from some underground mall in Rue de Rivoli.

Can anybody give more specific info about that?

Rue de Rivoli is a long street, which metro station we get off, which mall do we go into?

And most importantly, does this entrance still exist and works?

Yes. The entrance still exists.

Along Rue De Rivoli you%26#39;ll find a red awning sticking out from the main Louvre building with the words Carousel on it. That%26#39;s your entrance to the shopping mall and subsequently to the lower entrance to the Louvre museum.

99 rue de Rivoli, or get off at Metro Palais Royal-Musée du louvre, and follow exit Carrousel du LOuvre

Metro Stop is Palais Royal/Musee du Louvre.

It is kind of on the back of Hotel du Louvre which is at bottom of Avenue de l%26#39;Opera, a bit to the right in the direction of Place de la concorde.

Thanks everybody..
