Taxi/bus from Bastia Airport to Bastia train station

Hi everyone,

We%26#39;re flying into Bastia in a couple of weeks (on a Sunday), and i was wondering about connections to Bastia train station. How far is the station from the airport, and how much can we expect to pay for a taxi?

Alternatively, are there any direct buses from the airport? Any restricted services on a Sunday?

Thanks!

The Rough Guide says that the airport is 16 km from the town and that there is a beige and blue shuttle bus (navette) from there to the railway station. The guide says it costs E8 but this may be out of date. The number for the service enquiries is 04 95 31 06 65 but they may not speak much English.

In my experience things in Corsica are very quiet indeed on a Sunday.

Where do you want to get to on the train from Bastia? You can pick up the trainline at Cazamozza station, which is much nearer to the airport, to go in either direction. I don%26#39;t know if there%26#39;s public transport from the airport but its only about 3k so would not cost much by taxi.

Thanks for your replies. We%26#39;re going on to Calvi on the evening train (around 5pm) - we fly in at about 3pm so we should be OK for time. Balanina - I don%26#39;t think Cazamozza is on our route unfortunately!

Considering the station is around 16km from the airport then, how much would you think a taxi would cost in case there%26#39;s no public transport?

(I%26#39;m going on the assumption that there will be taxis available at the airport - correct me if wrong!)

Thanks.

I%26#39;ve never taken a taxi in Corsica but judging from other posts they are relatively expensive. I suppose it is an equivalent journey to taking a taxi from Central London to Heathrow with little traffic.

I would be extremely surprised if Cazamozza was not on your route, since all trains go through it. Check out the timetable.

You might also want to note that you will need to transfer onto a bus at Ponte Leccia, for Ile Rousse, and then get back on another train at Ile Rousse.

If you go into Bastia, you will simply retrace your steps and come out again nearly to the airport on the train! - have a look at Google maps and see where the train goes.

Oops yes, you%26#39;re right! It is definitely much closer to the airport than Bastia station! So we can just buy tickets at the station and jump on that train?

One more thing - I%26#39;ve noticed we%26#39;ll have to change trains. I%26#39;m a little confused - do we change for a bus or a train? (on a sunday)

Thanks for all your help!

edit - i notice you say we%26#39;ll have to change for a bus between ponte leccia %26amp; ile rousse, but the timetable%26#39;s a little confusing and looks like we might be able to catch a train at 19:39 on the 107D?
