Has anyone stayed at a hotel that is very convenient to the Rue Cler area? We are a group of four friends celelbrating our milestone birthdays: 70, 65, 60 and 60. Location is a top priority, but price is also a concern. A suite to sleep 4 would be fine.

you could try Hotel de la Tulipe on rue Malar which is just around the corner. I used to live next door to it so when I had no space guests used to stay there. It isn%26#39;t massive but it is very cute with a lovely courtyard for breakfast. The reviews on here seem pretty good though I have no idea how much it costs these days.

Hotel Levesque is on rue Cler (http://www.hotel-leveque.com/) I%26#39;ve seen it recommended here and it%26#39;s recommended by Rick Steves.
There%26#39;s also Hotel Muguet and Hotel Valadon (www.hotelvaladon.com) that are very nice and near rue Cler and Hotel de la Paix (www.hotelparispaix.com) has quad rooms.

Quad rooms are not plentiful in Paris. If you do a search on this forum for family or quad rooms, someone graciously posted a list of hotels in Paris with quad/family rooms. And, they are usually booked far in advance.
Be advised, also, that there may or may not be any %26quot;suites%26quot; in your price range. The typical quad room is extremely cozy, probably with one small bathroom, and no seating except for the beds and maybe the desk chair.
In the rue Cler area, have a look at Hotel de la Bourdonnais. There may be others.
When booking, pay attention to bed sizes, if that is important to you.

For 4, you can rent an apartment. It%26#39;s cheaper than hotel and you can be all in the same apartment.

We have enjoyed the Hotel Champ Du Mars twice before, http://www.hotel-du-champ-de-mars.com/
but I think they only go to a triple. We like the hotel and it is only a few doors away from Rue Cler.

We love the rue Cler 7 eme area. It%26#39;s like staying in a area where people live and is less touresty than some other more centrally located areas. The best you are going to do at the Leveque is a room for three, with the third being limited to a child sleeping on a rollaway. An apartment is your best bet.

Have you considered a B%26amp;B (with en suite bathrooms)? An establishment that has more than one room to rent would meet your needs. We loved the B%26amp;B where we stayed last trip. In addition to being beautifully done, we had a view that simply can%26#39;t be found without paying hundreds of dollars at a hotel--all for 100 euro a night, including breakfast. We had the room with king size bed, a private sitting room outside the bedroom, and a private terrace with sliding glass doors from both the private sitting room and bedroom. All looked directly at the Eiffel tower with nothing in between. Within the same B%26amp;B, there were two other rooms (which, I think, rented for 70 euro a night), each of which had its own sink and toilet, but had to share a shower (our room had its own beautiful, fully appointed bathroom). Since there are 4 of you, you could, of couse, all use the sitting room (couch and two chairs and a table) and the private terrace (wide, runs the length of the apartment). The apartment is one very short block from the metro in a lovely residential area, with a park just across the street. The Rue Cler metro stop was two stops (about 8 minutes away), and we ate there a couple of times, as we have on other trips, including one trip when we stayed at Hotel Champs de Mars. Since breakfast is included and will cost you 5 to 9 euros each in a cafe, it%26#39;s really a bargain, and it%26#39;s definitely private. Our bedroom had a king size bed (actually two singles together with separate bedding so it would work well for friends) and the other bedrooms had double beds or queen size beds--I%26#39;m not sure.

we stayed at the Leveque many years ago and hated every minute of it from the noisy room to the indifferent desk staff who told our baby sitter we were not there for 4 days straight
one of the worst hotels we ever stayed in and the last time we ever listened to Rick Steves about hotels
