Late light dinner near Eiffel Tower

We will be taking a night segway tour on a Friday evening that will end around 10:30pm very close to the Eiffel tower. Does anyone have any suggestions for a light dinner in the area? We will have had a large meal in the afternoon so I am thinking just a bite or two would be great. I don%26#39;t really even know what we could get for a light dinner! (If we were in Italy it would be a slice of pizza - so go from there)

Thanks!

We ate at the Le Royal Tour Brasserie near the Eiffel Tower. I had the steak frites which was boring but my wife had their beef stew, wow that was very good.

There were other places near by as well.

Go near Ecole Militaire or rue Saint Dominique and you will find all kinds of places.

A croque monsieur with salad is probably the closest thing to a slice of pizza in Italy.

We%26#39;ve taken the evening Segway tour many times. Actually, the tour does end at the Tour Eiffel, but then you have to ride your Segways back to the office to turn them in - located about 1km south of the Tour Eiffel in the 15th on rue Edgar Faure.

Note also that the tour does not necessarily end promptly at 10:30, as most people are having such fun on the Segways that they don%26#39;t want to give them up, and the guide lets everyone stay out half an hour or so longer. Then, everyone travels in a group back to the office.

By then, it may be too late to order food by the time you get over to Place de l%26#39;Ecole Militaire or anywhere in the 7th.

After one tour (I wanted to get closer to my hotel before dining), the only place still serving food in the 7th was Le Recruitment (corner rue Saint Dominique/blvd La Tour Maubourg), where the food is very good and prices are low/moderate.

A good bet, a short walk from the Segway office, is Le Bouquet de Grenelle (corner blvd de Grenelle/ave de la Motte Picquet). This is a corner cafe/bar opposite the metro station and a stop for bus #80 (which runs until at least half past midnight). Here they serve crepes, pizza, cafe food, and plats du jour - and they serve very late.

If you%26#39;re planning to get back to where you%26#39;re staying on the metro/bus, just be sure to know the time of the last train/bus.

How did you find/book your segway tour? To those who have taken this tour before, was it good value?

I%26#39;d appreciate hearing of first hand experiences.

Somewhereonthebeach,

Here%26#39;s the site:

Good value? Well, I%26#39;ve done their daytime tour the past 2 years in a row and if I%26#39;m back in Paris this year will do one again!

So yes, although it%26#39;s not cheap at 75 euros it is worth every penny. If Segways were legal where I live I%26#39;d buy one in a minute!

You get about a half hour training at their office in a quiet courtyard and they are amazingly quick to get the hang of.

So go ahead, you%26#39;ll have a ball!
