Would appreciate learning about food opportunities at or near the Louvre. We would be looking for lunch AND supper, and would like to stay within short range of the museum -- perhaps within a block or two?
Can anyone recommend some choices. We will be at the Museum on a Friday.
Merci

Actually you can eat in the Louvre... the main dining option is pretty institutional and packed, but upstairs in the wing on the left (as you face the museum entrance) is a super nice small sit down restaurant with table service and great food. It%26#39;s the perfect break from walking the galleries, you can have some vino with your meal! The view is great, and if it%26#39;s summer time you can sit outside on a terrace overlooking the courtyard with the pyramid. I highly recommend it, and not many people seem to know it%26#39;s there.

There is also a food court in mall at Louvre.. not bad at all, some good choices( for a food court),,

And there are a handful of cafes that serve sandwiches and salads in the Tuileries Gardens.

Right outside the Museum (get hand stamped for return entry) there is a an esculator that will take you up to a food court. There are so many choices it is great for a family.

Some photos of the food ....

Actually, the food court no longer exists. Since about a month, the location is being turned into an Apple Store. What were some shops and a food court now looks like this: appleinsider.com/articles/09/04/28/a_brief_l…

Exit at the Richealeau(sp) doors and walk west one block right at the Statue of Joan of Arc Intersection of Rue du Rivoili and Rue du Pyramides . The Cafe Carrousel is great for a outdoor / indoor lunch cafe or take away baguette and Jambon or Crouque Madam or Monsuier(sp), or for a great dinner try Domenico restaurant just up from the Joan of arc statue on Rue du Pyramides, It is fabulous Italian.

There is a section of the food court being converted to retail but alot of the restaurants are still operating. Well, they were last weekend as I ate there.
|||
Yes, there is still a food court but perhaps it%26#39;s smaller than it was - we ate there a couple of days ago.
To the OP, you could have lunch or dinner at Cafe Marly (make sure you make a reservation for dinner though). It is right at the Louvre, overlooking the pyramid. We had a nice meal there last summer sitting out on the terrace. It was a wonderful evening!

Right across the street from the Tuileries on the rue du Rivoli is the famous Angelina Salon du The, where you can have a great lunch or afternoon tea.
