Hi, have you tried holidaytaxis.com? Tip is that if there are no routes shown on their website, then email and they will get back to you with a cost. Quick and easy to use.

Have a great time at Les Charmettes, we went there about 3 years ago and had a fantastic time. The park itself is fantastic with loads going on to keep everyone entertained.

Dont forget to visit the zoo at la palmyre, buy popcorn when you go in to feed the animals on the way round, my kids loved it.

If you need any advice let me know

Thanks for the post, but tried holidaytaxis.com on the 17th jan and have had no reply. I forwarded the message again after receiving your post and have still had no reply. On a lighter note, as we are going to Les Charmettes for the first time it is great to hear that the site has plenty to offer, and

your input has put our minds at rest on that score. One other question is, is getting to Le Palmyre easy ? as we are not getting a hire car, but we are walking. Many thanks again for your reply....Mike Priest

The walk from Les Charmettes to La Palmyre would be quite a trek - it is about 3-4 kilometers if memory serves correct, and the roads do not have any %26#39;sidewalks%26#39;. They take quite a bit of traffic too, so it is not necessarily that safe a walk with children.

Are you sure you don%26#39;t want to hire a car - it would really be your best way of getting there from the airport, and getting you around the area. There is lots of interesting %26#39;stuff%26#39; to see, as well as the Zoo ath La Palmyre, you are not to far from some interesting Islands (eg Ile de Oleron), and Fort Boyard would be a good place to visit, also.

hi. just wondering if you have taken your trip yet or if you managed to find any info re airport transfer. i am having the self same problem but going up the coast to southern vendee to jard sur mer, roughly the same distance. have also called and emailed holiday taxis but have had no response. my resort have quoted me 210 euros each way which i really do not want to pay. neither do i want to risk the intercom at the airport as will be traveling with very tired four year old so would rather pre book. have drawn a total blank for two-three weeks of intense research and getting very frustrated! Any information would be very much appreciated. i will let you know if i get any response to multitude of emails sent to local taxi firms.

many thanks

p.s. refreshing to see a forum of real people with same problems as me. have only been on (oh dear oh dear what were you thinking) lonelyplanet and was made to feel really silly!!

Hi, and thanks for the post. We are actually travelling this friday, and I managed to get a booking through holidaytaxis.com for transfers. We are paying £260 for a return taxi journey, but this only takes 4 people don%26#39;t forget. We had to ring holidaytaxis to get anywhere with them. The tel.no. is on the website if you fancy trying that way. Good luck....priesty

We are staying at a guesthouse in La Rochelle and when I enquired about bus etc from the airport, the owner offered to pick us up from the airport. Perhaps you could ask if Siblu Park might arrange a pick-up.

Just to let you know, there will be a new airport transfer service available from La Rochelle starting at the beginning of May. It will certainly be covering all the holiday parks around La Palmyre.

I know the area really well,my tipfor getting around, hire a bike, there are over 50kms of cycle paths. go to www.larochelleairporttravel.co.uk

The above link doesn%26#39;t seem to be working.

Have just tried link with no problems

There was a post a few weeks ago about a new airport transfer service starting.I think the man running it is from the LesMathes area (near your holiday location I think) Will post the details again.
