My 23 year old sister is looking after our daughter during our week in Paris, and I want to buy her a handbag as a thank you gift. Unfortunately, I am on a budget, even with the Canadian dollar doing better these days I only have a max of 130 euros to spend. Any suggestions for best places to go to find something cool and parisian in that price range? I will not be spending a lot of time shopping on this trip, so any tips to help me narrow down my search would be appreciated. Thanks!

I hate shopping, and I don%26#39;t like handbag%26#39;s much!!
BUT you could try the Boulevard Hausmann, where the great Department Stores like Printemps and Galleries Lafayette are located, that might give you a fair selecton of choice in a relatively %26#39;compact%26#39; area (near L%26#39;Opera!!)

This is a little risky, but you might want to try the duty free shops at CDG on your way home. They have beautiful designer bags in all price ranges with very favorable discounts. I still wish I%26#39;d bought a terrific Sonya Rykiel bag I saw there. I think you%26#39;re sure to find a great bag, or other gift.

I collect handbags and one big reason I go to Paris annually is to buy one or two new ones. Smiles.
Karine Dupont is great. I%26#39;ve bought her bags ever since she first showed them at Galeries Layfayette. They are very functional. She%26#39;s on the Cherche Midi, in the 6th, a few steps down from the great Poilane bakery...have an apple tart while there!
You can google her shop. I can%26#39;t remember, off the top of my head, but it%26#39;s either karinedupont.com or karinedupont.fr The website has never been that great. You need to go to the boutique to get the full effect. Bloomindales used to carry the bags here in L.A., but things change so fast here that there are always new/different handbag companies/ handbags that are out.
The other great handbag store is %26quot;Un Apres Midi de Chien%26quot; right on the rue Etienne Marcel. You take metro line 4 and get off at Etienne Marcel and then you%26#39;ll be standing in front of Joe Allen%26#39;s Restaurant. Face the street, cross it, and go to your left and walk along the street and it%26#39;ll be not too far down. You%26#39;ll pass the Mandarin Duck handbag store on your way.
You can go on unapremididechien.com as this is the website for right here in L.A. We had a boutique here on Melrose Blvd., but it closed and now the bags are carried somewhere else in L.A., but can be ordered by mail. If you go on the website, you can get a good idea of the different styles and then check out the new collections in Paris. Happy Travels!

Un Sac Un Jour is on the boul raspail, just north of Karine Dupont and they have a fun selection of bags that you won%26#39;t find at home, either.
For something you%26#39;d get in the US, but it is considerably more over there and less than Dupont or USUJ, would be Longchamps. 72 Euro for a bag.
The ultimate Parisian bag that just about EVER local woman seems to own, and also in the 70 euro range, are the Vanessa Bruno bags. Avail at the Bon Marche and probably the Galeries Lafayette, as well.

Another possibility, if you%26#39;re looking for something she won%26#39;t see at home (but not necessarily a %26quot;brand%26quot;) and that isn%26#39;t outlandishly expensive, is a shop on Ile St Louis that sells some unusual bags and wallets. I don%26#39;t remember the name, but it%26#39;s on the Right Bank side of the main street (runs lengthwise down the island) in about the second block. Actually, there are several very reasonably priced accessory shops in that same area, where you might find something different. Good luck with this!

I don%26#39;t know anything about bags but it%26#39;s nice to see so many good suggestions well within the OP%26#39;s price range. Perhaps she can get a nice bag AND have some extra money for something for herself. :-)

I lamost bought a Vanessa Bruno bag in April, at Galeries Layfayette, but I founfd them quite expensive for what they are. When I went back to my Parisian friend%26#39;s apartment after shopping, I went on his computer to the website, but it wasn%26#39;t up. I was hoping to see other styles and whether or not there was a V.Bruno boutique in Paris, so that I could see a large selection.
I had no idea that these were the %26quot;in%26quot; bags. They were just the only handbags, at Galeries Lafayette, that really caught my eye, that day. Smiles. Happy Travels!

Another vote for Karine Dupont; I bought two of her bags in April.
Also, I like Un Apres-Midi du Chien.

Berkeley- I love that place on Ile St Louis!
but one of my best buys from the last trip was a Kesslord bag. I admit, its reminiscent of the YSL Downtown bag I just couldnt buy at 1100 euros! Saw it at the store in the Marais, then got it at discount with my pass at Gallerie Lafayette - and the tax rebate.
also, I HAD to get the Herve Chapelier weekend bag that matches the tote I already had.

Since you ladies are very into bags... there is a new designer in town. Unfortunately, I don%26#39;t know the prices but he is the son of the Bottega Veneta family and decided to go on his own when Gucci took over the family business.
Corto Moltedo are his bags and they are young and hip and made of gorgeous leathers. His boutique is in the Palais Royale.
