We will be staying in Santa Teresa di Gallura in Sardinia in June and plan to take the ferry across to Bonifacio for a day trip. We will have a car, but taking this across will add over 50 Euros to the price. Is it worth it, or is there plenty to see as a pedestrian/via public transport?

I see no advantage to taking a car to Bonifacio if you will only be there one day. There is plenty to see just walking around town.

There is certainly no need for a car. Do take seasickness tablets, as the crossing is notorious. I think it is the worst I have ever had, and I remember the oldfashioned Channel ferries.
