I will arrive Tuesday (hotel in zone 2). Should I buy zone 2 or zone 5 weekly pass?
Zone 1-2 pass cost 16.80 Euros and 1-5 cost 33 Euros.
(plus 5 Euros for the card).
If I buy the zone 2 pass, how much extra I need to pay for Versailles and Musée du chateau de Fontainebleau?
I guess these those are the only 2 places out of zone 2?
Thanks!

Do you really need a pass? Most of us buy a carnet, a discounted pack of 10 tickets for 11+Euros.

If you%26#39;ll be there through Sunday it%26#39;s probably a good idea to just get the pass. I liked using the pass for a short trip - e.g., the Sacre Coeur funicular - without worrying about %26quot;using%26quot; a ticket.
I had six days of use and saved money by having the Navigo pass. A day or two less and it would have been better just to use carnets. In February I%26#39;ll be there a week plus a bit before the week and a longer bit after the week - I%26#39;ll probably use a Navigo pass (I%26#39;ll save a bit since I already have the card) and carnet(s) for the partial weeks.

If you buy the zone 1-2 card, you will need to buy separate tickets to Versailles and Fontainebleau (there is no possibility of a %26#39;top-up%26#39; fare). A ticket from Paris to Versailles or back is €2.90. I%26#39;m not quite sure where the musée du Château de Fontainebleau is exactly, but the RER train to Fontainebleau-Avon is €7.80.
You don%26#39;t mention how long you will be staying, or where else you want to go, so we can%26#39;t say whether the weekly Carte Orange is really the best choice, or if there are any other places you want to go out of zone 2. But, the airports for example are outside zone 1-2.

Thanks for the reply. I will arrive Tue and depart next Mon. Therefore weekly pass sounds good to me.

It all depends whether you are planning to use the RER to get to and from CDG, and if you have already got a navigo decouvert which you want to top up.
Cost to central Paris and back to CDG. 8.50euros x two = 17 euros,
plus
cost of zone 1-2 = 16.80 euros. Total 33.80 euros
The zone 1-5 will cost 33 euros (saving you 80c) and take you back and forth from CDG to Paris. This also gives you the option to go out of zone two if you wish. Although most tourist attractions are in zone 1-2.
The navigo decouvert costs 5 euros. It will last 10 years and can be topped up every time you come back to Paris. If you are not planning on returning it may not be cost effective.
I love my navigo decouvert pass. It give me so much flexibility. If I am tired with walking I can just jump on a bus going in my direction and ride a few stops. This way you still see Paris but save the toll on your feet!

PS. I think Versailles is in zone 4 (please correct me if I am wrong people) so if you were travelling from the airport CDG or Orly on the RER and going to Versailles you would be better to load a zone 1-5 pass on your navigo decouvert.

Since liszt2002 is returning to CDG on Tuesday it will not be in the same pass week as the trip into the city, so it doesn%26#39;t all count against the cost of the one-week pass.

Versailles is Zone 5.
If the Liszt2002 is arrving on Tuesday then it makes sense to get a Navigo covering Zone 1-5.
This would include travelling from CDG to Paris, take in Versailles, Disney, Parc Asterix etc.
Of course for the monday you will need to get a ticket to get back to CDG.
I know we used the Metro so much a carnet would not had lasted 2 days.
