Wi fi

Any places in carcassonne with free wi fi preferably or Internet cafes?

Free Wifi is good for general surfing. There are several free wifi locations including McDonalds.

There are also a couple of internet cafés. The trick here is finding one that will let you connect a personal laptop to their network. There is an internet café in Carcassonne that has been in business for years called Alerte Rouge. Unfortunately, Alerte Rouge requires you to use their machines (keylogging is one of the many reasons why I recommend against this).

There is a very comfortable and friendly new internet café on the west side of town. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name by heart but a quick visit to the Office de Tourisme will give you a complete current of all that is available.

Thank you, however I am not familiar with key logging?

Here%26#39;s a full explanation:

Alert Rouge has computers, sure, but you can also use your own, we use our laptops there quite easily, WIFI is %26quot;free%26quot; if you buy a coffee or drink per each hour. Try a Menthe Perrier.

It%26#39;s in the bas ville (lower larger town, as distinct from La Cite, the medieval village up the hill), comfortable and central, just a couple streets from Place Carnot.

There are other locations popping up each month as wifi proliferates.

drfertig - Glad to hear about Alerte Rouge. I at one time connected there but last July they told me I could not.
