we have a family member jumping on jun 7 .... and we plan to visit and witness this event. need help understanding about travel in and around Sainte Mere Eglise .. travel, hotel etc... any thoughts?

There has been mention that the President may be there, in which case passes will be needed but if you have a family member jumping you should be able to get these through him. Parking will be a nightmare and as for hotels, you had better get a move on and get somewhere booked but you won%26#39;t get anywhere near the beaches now, they%26#39;ve all been booked for months. If I had a room for everyone who has requested one over the D-Day weekend I could stop work for the rest of the year!

don%26#39;t stop work Thiaumerie, we need you on this Forum!!
Dang but that D-Day Parachuteing sounds interesting though. Wonder if me Binn%26#39;s will cover it from Essex!!

When you say help about traveling do you mean public transport as opposed to a car.
You can only get to Ste Mere Eglise in a car.
Some body might come back and say there%26#39;s a bus, but it won%26#39;t be when you want it.
I was at the cemetery yesterday. The staff don%26#39;t know any details about Ombama%26#39;s visit. I think it will be relatively low key but there will be many people around. I think he will go to the cemetery and that%26#39;s all. (my opinion only)

looks like the prez will be visiting.... we got a room in granville, and rented a car... you mentioned parking... any suggestions?

YOu mean on the 7th? Oh I hope not. He%26#39;s already messing up all my guests%26#39; weekend by preventing them from getting to places they had planned to visit.
What time is the drop on the 7th?

under the Sainte Mere Eglish location... 7 june.
sorry to concern you... but do you have suggestions on parking, we are thinking of being there around 6-7am in the morning to ensure we can park ...

However, I know of no known schedule of activities in any official manner.. just going to observe what happens .... any assistance or information on parking is appreciated.
