Leaving for Paris tomorrow from London- Can't speak French!

Hey all,

I have been trying to brush up on my French lately but have not done particularly well. I am leaving for Paris tomorrow for 3 nights. Will I have extreme difficulty getting around without being able to speak French?

Bonjour, s%26#39;il vous plait, merci and au revoir will get you pretty far.

Always greet everyone with a bonjour Monsieur or Madame and leave with an au revoir and most people in Paris will be able to help you in English especially now approaching high season.

Bonne chance and bon voyage!

Not to worry ... be happy.

Paris tourist/hotel/restaurants all speak some English.

With this said ... Just try to speak a word or two of French. Don%26#39;t expect/demand anyone to speak English ... and you will do great.

Most tourists who are in Paris do not speak French. Just be patient and smile!

if in doubt use the english word with a french accent =P

Listen to LouisianaBonnie: as long as you are courteous and remember to do your %26quot;Bonjour, Madame%26quot; and %26quot;Merci, Madame%26quot; and of course all the s%26#39;il vous plaƮt%26#39;s - you%26#39;ll be fine. I have several friends who go to Paris on a regular basis and don%26#39;t speak a word of French.

This basic %26quot;How-To-Do%26quot; by Heather Stimmler-Hall just hits it spot on. Observe her advice and you will be blending in perfectly !
