DAY 1: After months of research it was finally time to head off to paris for 9 days for our 20th anniversary,teenagers in tow.Left sydney 3.30 pm sunday 17th may and arrived at cdg 1pm monday 18th. All flights very smooth. Shuttle inter was there to meet us- very clean van and great service.Stayed at paris perfect apartment in the 7th (rue de grenelle)-beautiful homey and comfortable apartments.
After settling in and being amazed by our view of the eiffel tower we headed out for supplies.First stop the franprix which was easy to sort out given our limited french.Then off to picard which i had heard a lot about.Here we picked up fish,pizza,rice,pommes and ice cream all for 22.75 euros.This was a great easy dinner for our first night in paris and easily fed the four of us.
DAY 2:headed off to L%26#39;egouts thismorning.Were going to buy museum passes here but they were not available so walked back up to quai branly for passes and back to L%26#39;egouts.Sewers were a little smelly at times but very interesting and kids enjoyed this outing.
Afternoon we braved the metro for the first time and made our way from ecole militaire to cdg etoile to see the arc de triomphe.Found the underground tunnel to get to arc and were just blown away by the size and beauty of this great monument.We climbed all 284 stairs to the top and it was well worth it.It was a beautiful afternoon and the view was stunning.Took many photos here.
Exhausted, picard was our friend again tonight.For dessert we bought a pyramid of 16 sorbets,flavours included coconut(outright favourite),pineapple, berrie and apple.Enjoyed watching eiffel tower sparkle before going to bed.

Looking forward to the rest of your report. We are in Paris right now and planned on stopping at Picard for dinner supplies tonight but it was closed due to a bank holiday. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. How lucky you were to have a view of the tower from your apartment.

Yes the view was great. For the first 6 days we were in paris perfects Cognac apartment which was simply gorgeous.Hope you got to have picard for dinner.We loved the limonade fish fillets,also yummy pizzas.
