hotel location for easy transport to tgv & cdg airport?

hi

we are leaving for a trip to france on Wendsday

we are taking the tgv from nice into Gare Lyon

spending 2 nights in Paris, before flying home to the states on a 955am flight. My question,

i dont want to be dragging our cases on and off subways . any idea of where to stay

I was almost thinking of staying at the airport

then we can take a train from gare lyon to an airport hotel,dump the luggage and then roam around the city for the 2 days going back and forth from the airport??? I did something similar 15 years ago nd it worked out?

You could stay close to Gare de Lyon. From there you can take the Air France bus direct to CDG. (There is no direct train link). It%26#39;s reasonably central and all of Paris is accessible from there. I would not recommend staying at the airport - too far out.

From an airport hotel to the central of Paris is one hour each way. There is a bus from Gare de Lyon which goes non stop to CDG - AF Bus line 4, fare: 16.50€.

I do not recommend staying at the airport and commuting into Paris if you are staying two days. With such a short stay in Paris you%26#39;ll spend 2+ hours everyday just on the RER. There are plenty of hotels along the RER B route to CDG (5th arrondissement for example) such that you could leave Paris somewhere just after 6 am and be at CDG in time for your departure flight.

No matter where you stay, I recommend your being at the departure terminal 3 hours before you flight.

For heavens sake, spend a little extra and find an appealing hotel in Paris (not necessarily right by Gare de Lyon or at CDG).

Find an appealing and well located hotel, depending on your destinations while in Paris, then determine your best transit options from Gare de Lyon then to CDG.
