Chateau Des Ormes

We%26#39;re looking at Chateau des Ormes for the first time, and are a bit confused by the various operators offering mobile homes. Can anyone tell me please, from your experience at the site, which operators you think offered the best quality homes? We%26#39;re looking for the most comfortable ones with 3 bedrooms, but it%26#39;s all so confusing! Which operator do you normally book through, and have they been OK to deal with once you arrive there? Any tips would be much appreciated, before we book.

As a family we are regular visitors to campsites in France and have visited Chateau des Ormes once a few years ago. The mobile home operators have much the same specification when it comes to mobile homes - however if there is something you particularly want (e.g. a second bathroom, decking, cd player etc) or a particular child%26#39;s activity that should help decide which operator to go with. Depending on when you want to go and how long for may also restrict your choice. As with many things the more you pay will usually give you more comfort!

We have found that the couriers on site can influence the experience which is not as easy to assess by operators. If there are problems with the mobile home or site a good courier makes all the difference. Generally we have found them happier and more helpful if they like the site their working on -Chateau des Ormes is popular so there shouldn%26#39;t be a problem

Having said all that we tend to go back to Keycamp as we find their service usually good. They have good chilren%26#39;s clubs if that%26#39;s important. But also where we can we try to book a smaller company with a more personal approach - they are often run by older couples who have a different approach to customer service

Don%26#39;t know if this helps or confuses you more!

Thanks for very helpful information. Can I ask which smaller operators you have used in particular?

We have stayed in Chateau des Ormes in a 3 bed 2 bathroom mobile home. We have stayed with Keycamp and find them reliable. We have found that the couriers are good in a crisis (on occasions we have needed a dentist and a pair of fairly unique glasses couriered over from Ireland).

We will be staying with Keycamp once more, in four weeks time and would have no problems recommending them.

Chateau des Ormes is a very lively site in peak season and it can be difficult to get reservations. Furthermore, the mobile home sites tend to be somewhat smaller than other sites.

The smaller operators vary by site and can change so your best option is to google chateau des ormes and look for the operators. I know all the main ones are on site but can%26#39;t advise about the smaller ones here. We are staying at a Yelloh site in southern brittany this year but going with a small independent british firm who only cover 2 sites - so these can be very localised.

As previously mentioned you may have difficulty booking here for 2009 as it is a very popular site and books up quite quickly - but you never know with the credit crunch you may get a bargain!

Hope you enjoy whatever you decide on this year
