Beach shoes

I am starting to pack for our trip leaving Thursday. I know the beach in Nice is rocky. We are staying for ten days a half block from the Promanade and would like to walk on the beach. Should I pack some shoes for the beach or can I buy beach thongs cheaply there and just leave them behind when we go? Thanks

You can buy cheap sandals fairly easily in Nice- there are plenty of shops selling beach accessories -its best/cheapest to go to the bazaar type places further away from the sea though, as the beach accessory places tend to charge more for similar things.

many people use croc type things for the pebbles.
