Help - what is the best base to stay in Cote ?

Hi. I will be in France in July with my husband. We will be driving from Provence to Cote and plan to be in Cote for 3 days - 21st July to 24th July. What will you recommend the ideal base to be - should we stay all 3 nights at Nice ? Or shall we stay at Eze or some such small place ? We will have a car with us. Thanks

Hi there, I think it really depends what you like. Nice is a big city with lots of choice in shops and restaurants. If you prefer somewhere a bit quieter Eze or Villefranche which are just outside Nice are pretty villages and Villefranche has a sandy beach which Nice doesn%26#39;t if you plan to spend time on the beach.

My personal preference would be to stay in Nice and take day trips to places like the Ese, Villefranche, Antibes, St Paul de Vence, Grasse and Monaco.

Nice is the best and most interesting base for the cote d%26#39;azur but parking is at a premium as with just about everywhere on the coast.

Make sure wherever you stay has parking and check if you have to pay for the privilege of using it.
