Do I have to drive through Perpignan city from the Airport to get to Alenya?

Check a good map - there is a partial ring road (D914) to avoid the worst of the possible trouble spots.
The alternative and longer route would be via D617 through Canet-Roussillon then south on D11 to Alenya. That still takes you into the edge of the city centre.

No, you don%26#39;t have to. Follow the signs %26quot;Claira, Saint-Laurent de la Salanque, Le Barcarès%26quot;. Before Le Barcarès, there is a road to the right going to Sainte-Marie and Canet. Follow that road until you reach the first big roundabout in Canet. Turn right as if you were going to Perpignan and keep to the right. Less than half a mile on that road turn right again to %26quot;Canet Village%26quot;. Turn left after the stop sign (50 yards) and you will be on the road to Saint-Nazaire and Alenya.
