rue St. Dominique, Paris, France

For anyone looking to visit Paris and perhaps contemplating an apartment or hotel on rue St. Dominique, you should know that it%26#39;s a very nice street in 7e with lots of shops, food stores and restaurants. What that means is convenience during the day but lots of tourists too which makes it a very busy street. There are tour buses going through all the time and the sidewalks are always full. At night, you will also hear lots of noise from the restaurant patrons as well as the tourists occupying the many short-term apartment rentals on the street.

The difference between this street and some other 7e streets is that there is no weekday v. weekend as it is always %26quot;weekend%26quot; for tourists and they seem to not really sleep in Paris.

Enjoy your stay in Paris and do visit rue St. Dominique if it%26#39;s your cup of tea.

I used to stay at a friend%26#39;s apartment located at the intersection of ave Rapp, rue St Dominique and ave de la Bourdonnais. It is a very nice area, especially because it is close to rue Cler and Christian Constant%26#39;s restaurants on rue St Dominique. Although it is quite easy to catch a bus from there, it is a tad inconvenient if you like to use the metro.

I will heartily endorse any street that has a Comptoir Richard coffee store on it (as does r. St. Dominique) :)

Are you staying on rue Saint-Dominique? How much time have you spent there?

I%26#39;ve stayed there for over a week on three occasions and never once saw a single tour bus. The street is no busier than any other in Paris during the day that is lined with shops and restaurants.

And, at night, it%26#39;s actually very quiet compared to other areas of Paris. Most vacation apartments on this street are quite expensive and guests are asked to be considerate of the other tenants in the building. This is NOT a party area, and it tends to be very, very quiet after dark.
