Meeting family at CDG - tips on best way to meet up?

Hi - I%26#39;m arriving in Terminal 2E about 3 hours before the rest of my family. They%26#39;re arriving in Terminal 1 about mid-morning. Does it make sense to tell them to meet me at baggage claim - or will I not be able to get there from Terminal 2E? (It%26#39;s hard to tell where baggage claim is from the airport maps included on CDG%26#39;s official site.)

If you are coming from outside of the European Union, everyone will need to get their baggage and go through customs before they can meet anyone.

The most common meeting place is in the circular arrivals hall of Terminal where people exit from the immigration/customs area.

You would take the little CDGVAL train from terminal 2 to Terminal 1 and then go to the arrivals area.

We had a similar situation a couple of years ago, and my cousins were waiting outside baggage claim in Terminal 1 when we exited that area. It was their first time overseas, and they speak no French, and they got to Terminal 1 w/o any difficulty.

You could also plan to meet at Brioche Doree, a cafe in Terminal 1.

Hi -

Our family always meets at the hotel. Your three hour wait could turn into a lot more time if the other flight is late. You probably won%26#39;t be able to get into your room, but you can leave your bags at the hotel and go out to scout the neighbourhood. In our family, the first person to arrive has the responsibility of discovering a place to purchase wine, and one for cheese and snacks for the cocktail hour, and where we are going to have lunch, once everyone has arrived - all the important things.
