Pau to Lourdes

Hi, we are coming to Lourdes soon and are flying into Pau airport. I have had a look at some of the previous posts and cannot decide whether it is better to;

a) book a taxi/transfer

b) get a taxi to the rail station then the train

c) hire a car.

Could anyone offer an opinion on which would be best?

Also can anyone recommend a taxi transfer company?

Thanks

The answer depend on how many of you there are? How much luggage you have? Whether you are in a hurry? and what you plan to do in Lourdes?

A car in Lourdes would probably be a nuisance if you were there for a Pilgrimage as everywhere you%26#39;ll need to go is accessible on foot and parking is a a premium.

A taxi to Lourdes will cost around 80 Euros (unless you are travelling late at night or on a Sunday when it will probably be nearer 110 Euros).

A taxi to the station will probably be around 10-20 Euros, the train to Lourdes about 8 Euros each and then the taxi to the hotel from Lourdes station another 10 Euros.

You%26#39;ll need to decide for yourself what is best but if you choose to take a taxi all the way to Lourdes then I would suggest contacting www.taxi-lourdes.com or www.alliance-taxi-lourdes.com

Also, check where you are flying to as Pas airport is closed for a couple of weeks from 27th July and Ryanair flights are being diverted to Lourdes airport.
